Explore Agricultural Machinery: Technical Data, Prices, and a Powerful PHP-MySQL System

Maquinaria Agrícola is a site with information on sales prices and detailed characteristics of international agricultural machinery, it was made with php and mysql, using the styles of the blog «tractores y maquinas» for the frontend and for the backend Boostrap. Designed for fast processing of information and display of a high volume of images, we prioritized a minimalist and responsive design.

A backend was developed for the administration of the information displayed in the frontend, which uses the credentials of the blog administration users «tractores y maquinas». However, the site has its own database.

The site is fed with information from various sources, the prices of agricultural machinery sales are entered through a form, and others through the automatic scraping of various classified sites of tractors, once stored in the database are managed and administered through a panel.

For the scraping of the tractor classifieds of the sales sites we programmed php scripts that using scraping APIs (Scraperapi and Scrape.do mainly) and studying the html code of each site we obtain the necessary data and register them in a table. These records are reviewed by moderators through an administration panel and if they are valid then they are displayed in the frontend.

A section was also created in the backend of the site to obtain a summary of the different price records with certain characteristics of interest.

The detailed information of the machinery is obtained from the import of data files provided by INES (National Institute of Statistics in Spain) in CSV format, with them the brands, models and UNE categories are updated. And administration panels were developed in the backend for the models, brands and categories to manage and complement the information to be displayed in the frontend.

There are other imported data that are the daily movements of machinery in the different Spanish locations, these last data are consolidated by month and by year in tables respectively. A management panel was also created to filter and locate records quickly.

With the daily and consolidated information on machinery movements by location, a series of computer modules were created for the pages of models, brands and categories.

A series of rankings were created at the client’s request, with an administration to supplement information on these rankings.

We made an amazon product ads module that is randomly displayed on the model pages. For this we developed an administration panel to add the ads by just adding the Amazon code of the ad and to have information of the validity of the ad, as well as the interest of visitors for the product, by updating this information with each impression of the module in the model pages.
